On October 20, 2015, an "Enhanced Edition" developed by DotEmu was released on Steam, alongside a re-release of the original game. In 1997, a PC-only sequel was released under the name of Little Big Adventure 2 (also known as Twinsen's Odyssey).

It was released for the PlayStation in Japan and Europe in 19 respectively, and to Android and iOS devices in 2014. The game was later ported to the PC-98 and FM Towns and was released in Japan in 1995. The game was initially released on CD-ROM and some time later on floppy disks the CD-ROM version features full-motion video, music and speech whereas the floppy disk version has MIDI music files and still images to replace the videos. It was published in Europe by Electronic Arts, and by Activision in North America, Asia and Oceania under the name Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure.

Join Twinsen, the hero prophet, on a surreal adventure through fantastical worlds to discover the Legend. The gameplay pulls you in from the word go and manages to keep the frustration factor low by not being too unfair. The graphics, animation and sound are all extremely well done. Little Big Adventure can firmly take his place with the rest of the classic games because it is, quite frankly, brilliant. From this point onwards Twinsen revolts against FunFrock to save his girlfriend Zoé and to eventually save the world. Twinsen, the hero of the game, is having prophetical dreams and has been taken to the asylum of Citadel Island, where the game starts. FunFrock has forbidden the people to speak of an ancient legend along with the name of a goddess, Sendell. Twinsun has been under the dictatorship of Dr FunFrock, who dominates the planet with his powers of cloning, mutation and teleportation. You need to talk and interact with them to receive hints or help on your quest. Characters of these species are spread all over the game. Rabbibunnies are rabbits walking on two legs and Grobos look like elephants. Quetches are humanoids with a pony tail right on top of their heads and Spheros have sphere like bodies. Four different species live on Twinsun: the Quetches, the Spheros, the Rabbibunnies and the Grobos. The characters in the game are mainly based on toys and animals. These scenes are viewed from a three dimensional isometric perspective. The game has a total of 120 scenes to visit, and you are given very much freedom to do this. The different locations are divided into small active scenes. Both the two hemispheres and the mountain range can be visited, which gives the game a variety of landscapes, including desert and snow. The planet is divided into two hemispheres by a huge mountain range running along its equator. The game is set on Twinsun, a planet stabilized between two suns. Menus and gameplay are in Multi-5 (English, French, German, Italian & Spanish).
