You can specify the File: page name on upload.I would love to figure out how to make a real mangler with a engine and transmission ! Later on the to learn list. An image can have a completely different name from the File: page before you upload it. When you upload an image it creates the File: page for it, but that File: won't exist for an image unless you manually create it before you upload the image. Be aware that Windows maintains three different times stamps for a file: created, modified, and last accessed. This will create a brand new file that I think should have the current time.

I'm not sure I answered #2, because to be honest I don't understand it. If you want to rename but use the current time as the timestamp, Id use copyfile() instead of movefile(). The File: page keeps a history of different images associated with it and only displays the latest version by default. Right-click the selected group, choose Rename from. Remember, the File: page is really just a reference so you can tell a page to display the associated image. To rename a folder of loose photos all at once on a Windows computer, open that folder and select all the images inside it. Technically categories can't be renamed, but you can give a File: a category before there is an image associated with it. As soon as you upload an image to associate with the File: page it should start displaying the image on other pages.

If the old name redirects to the new name, things should be fine, but it is good cleanup practice to go and update to the new name. If you rename File:someimage.jpg to File:newname.jpg, all the references to File:someimage.jpg on pages will break, unless you make sure the create redirect checkbox is checked when you rename (the checkbox is usually checked by default, I believe).
